More ‘Befores’

First off… I am sorry the learning curve on this new blog format is still a little ragged.  Please bear with me as I figure this all out!

Anyhow…..

The renovation is zooming along.  Before everything is done, let me show you a bunch of ‘Before’ pictures:

  1. Is the checkerboard carpet squares or linoleum?? And WHY would anyone put linoleum in a living room??????

    • Those blue and yellow squares are indoor / outdoor carpet! And I have no idea why there was linoleum in the living room originally. Those are mysteries my parents took to their graves!

  2. I don’t think gpa put the linoleum in the living room. I think he was surprised when we removed the carpet after the water heater flood.

  3. OK….I have to say NO on the baby blue in the pink tile bath…..Go vintage in there and do pink and black…….JMHO

    • I always appreciate your HOs, Susie! That color is not really baby blue it is actually a very light teal color and it looks great as an accent color in the kitchen where it is going to be. Just on the area between the countertop and the cabinets.
And the paint sample in the bathroom is actually gray but I know it looks blue in the picture. That bathroom will be very vintage. The tiles are a pinky peach and the gray and white look really nice together.

  4. 1. Were you as morbid as I was as a teen and fantasized, “if my parents died, the first thing I would do is….” Don’t answer that, at least not publicly.
    2. I bet Parker would LOVE the blue/gold checkerboard! Give him a VOICE!!!!
    3. You are making amazing progress. I’ve been in my house 3 years and still have the same crappy kitchen floor.
    4. I’m coming to visit. Can you say the same? Huh? HUH?!?

    • PS: the first thing I would have done is replace those orange striped chairs. Do you remember those? I have pictures.

  5. OMG I totally forgot I was going to come visit. I gotta call you this weekend and tell you about how I changed up everything when I decided to keep this house. And the Dog. And the legal stuff. And even this blog! My life is crazy but I feel happier than I have in a long time. I needed something that engaged my brain, you know?

    • Oh boy do I know. My brain has been engaged for 3 years… since I bought this house.

  6. Think of all the $$$ you could have made renting out the checkerboard room floor to chess nerds. Hindsight, my friend. Hindsight.
